The article studies activities of women’s committees in Yenisey province during the Russo-Japanese War and the First World War. It characterizes the number of participants and types of women’s committees, social preconditions for their emergence, contents of their activities, their interaction with the local provincial and municipal administrations, and determine the degree of their social effectiveness and significance. The article evaluates the influence of women’s committees on the nature of women’s civil activity in one of the distant Eastern Siberia provinces of the Russian Empire
